Un documental nacido de dos laboratorios de action learning en Bergen —el curso MASA203 «Community Work and Art» del máster en Trabajo Comunitario de la HVL—, donde estudiantes, docentes y artistas de Bergen y Madrid, en el espíritu de Paulo Freire, exploraron el cuerpo, el ritmo y el bambú como herramientas de comunicación.
A documentary born of two action-learning labs in Bergen —the course MASA203 “Community Work and Art”, within the Master’s in Community Work at HVL—, where students, teachers and artists from Bergen and Madrid, in the spirit of Paulo Freire, explored the body, rhythm and bamboo as tools for communication.
En su momento quiso ser una pieza más larga —había, y sigue habiendo, mucho material—; esto es un primer montaje, una copia de trabajo. Una co-creación de Apropos Teater y La Manigua.
At the time it wanted to be a longer piece —there was, and still is, a lot of material—; this is a first cut, a work in progress. A co-creation by Apropos Teater and La Manigua.

De dónde cae el bambúWhere the bamboo falls from
El bambú no es una imagen que buscamos: viene de un ejercicio de Solvei Stoutland en los talleres. Una vara que el grupo sostiene y que, en algún momento, cae. Ese error —la caída— no interrumpe el ejercicio: lo abre. Ahí empieza a aprenderse algo que no estaba previsto.
The bamboo is not an image we went looking for: it comes from an exercise by Solvei Stoutland in the workshops. A pole the group holds and which, at some point, falls. That mistake —the fall— does not interrupt the exercise: it opens it. That is where something unplanned begins to be learned.
Donde se esperaba un errorWhere a mistake was expected
Lo que esta pieza mueve es la manera de mirar el fallo. Donde otros ven algo que salió mal —una vara en el suelo—, el bambú encuentra el punto exacto donde empezar.
What this piece shifts is the way of looking at failure. Where others see something that went wrong —a pole on the ground—, the bamboo finds the exact point where to begin.
Equivocarse deja de ser caerse.To get it wrong is no longer to fall.
